Our Partners

We work together with more than 40 partners from the public and private sector. The success of the program is strongly dependent on its broad network.
For example, public partners provide trainers who implement training activities, or work with their personnel on joint activities, at the service of smallholder farmers in their countries. Private partners have a business interest, which is bound to the development of the value chain. In the frame of the program these two interests are aligned and implemented through joint coordinated activities. Below you will find an overview of all of CARI’s partners.

The project is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and co-financed by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) is a “founding-member” of CARI, emphasizing the private sector-led Matching Fund approach. CARI is affiliated with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and strongly supported by the Tanzanian Ministry of Agriculture. 

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Kilimo Trust actively implement the CARI projects on-site, in collaboration with our partners.  

At the core of CARI, lies its cooperation with our Matching Fund Partners and rice mills, who are strongly committed to CARI's vision of making the African rice value chain competitive and sustainable.
